Do you remember enjoying a book under the covers with a flashlight long after "lights out" time, because you just didn't want to stop reading? That magical feeling of getting lost in a story either belongs to every child, or should belong to every young person in this stage of life. Our YOUTH AUDIOBOOKS are chosen with this prerequisite in mind. Imaginative plot, captivating characters, and wholesome entertainment alone could make our audiobook offerings a hit, but we add the requirement of time tested appeal. In fact, each volume we offer has delighted and charmed children for over eighty-five years! Thankfully, you need not hide the flashlights, but be prepared to "unplug" their ipod if they fall asleep while listening. Shhh...it's sleeptime!

Iota writing with pen Kalliope's Review
What a precious story! Watching Elizabeth Ann grow from being a sheltered, fearful orphan into a confident, capable "Betsy" who handles herself in new settings, undertakes chores cheerfully and capably, and expresses herself among adults is like watching a caterpillar become a butterfly. Do you know any young ladies who might be inspired by the transformation in this story? I highly recommend it for them.  ~ Kalliope
Iota reading Short Book Summary
Understood Betsy written in 1916 by Dorothy Canfield Fisher is the story of  9-year-old orphan Elizabeth Ann, who goes from a sheltered existence in the city to living on a Vermont farm with her mother's family, the Putneys. In her new rural life, Elizabeth Ann (nicknamed "Betsy") thrives in her new environment, learning to make butter, boil maple syrup, and tend the farm animals.

"When this story begins, Elizabeth Ann, who is the heroine of it, was a little girl of nine, who lived with her Great-aunt Harriet in a medium-sized city in a medium-sized State in the middle of this country; and that's all you need to know about the place, for it's not the important thing in the story; and anyhow you know all about it because it was probably very much like the place you live in yourself."
