"Tell me a story!" How many times do we hear this beguiling request from the lips of our children, when they see reading as something only big kids and grown-ups can do? While we definitely advocate that parents read to their little ones as much as possible, sometimes another "beautiful voice" can add some special magic to their day. Engagingly, our PRE-READER AUDIOBOOKS overflow with whimsy, sparkle, and creativity. Did we also mention that they're wholesome too?

Kalliope's Review |
"When I find a book that makes me laugh out loud, I can't wait to share it. And even more so, when it is a book that little people will delight in as well as their parents. Some children's books have limited "adult appeal" but not this one! In a car player, everyone on the trip will giggle with glee at the fun, the nonsense, and the crazy images conjured up by words alone. A lighthearted lovely!" ~ Kalliope |

Short Book Summary |
Written in 1899, this book of poetry and nonsense verse was written by Carolyn Wells of Rahway, NJ. Some of the poems/limericks such as "The Tutor" (A tutor who tooted the flute, tried to tutor two tooters to toot...) may be familiar, but others of the over-fifty offerings like "Triangular Tommy" and "The Macaroni Man" will be new, unique, and exquisitely delicious! |

A Serious Question
"A kitten went a-walking, One morning in July, And idly fell a-talking, With a great big butterfly. The kitten's tone was airy, The butterfly would scoff; When there came along a fairy, Who whisked his wings right off. And then--for it is written, Fairies can do such things-- Upon the startled kitten, She stuck the yellow wings. The kitten felt a quiver, She rose into the air, Then flew down to the river, To view her image there. With fear her heart was smitten, And she began to cry, "Am I a butter-kitten? Or just a kitten-fly?" |
