Asking questions is an important part of life...ask any three year old! Seriously, without you asking us for clarification, requesting additional information, or inquiring about special circumstances, how do we know if we are communicating clearly? If we hear the same questions more than once (okay, maybe more than a few times), we will publish the answers here so all of you can benefit from the boldness of the few "questions-askers." Choosing?

What are your criteria for recording audiobooks?
We choose books that are interesting, encouraging, entertaining, and uplifting, and ones that have passed the test of time. All these favorites were probably enjoyed by your grandparents!

I'm not sure what to order. Do you give suggestions for different ages?
Yes we do! Check out our categories for different age groups. Everyone needs a book to listen to from babes to greats!

What are collaborative books?
Going on a road trip with tots, teens, and grandparents? These books will make sure that Mom and Dad stay sane, the kids have fun, the teens won't roll their eyes, and the Grands can reminisce over the time when they first read that book. What a bonding experience!

Shipping?

How do I calculate shipping charges?
That's easy...there are none! We ship all audiobooks to any address in the continental USA for free. That way, the price you see is the price we charge you. Nice, huh?

Do you do next-day or expedited shipping?
If you really want it, yes. By checking the boxes for these extra requirements, we will calculate the additional shipping charges. After all, no one needs to know that you were so busy you forget to place an order until today.

Do you ship to overseas addresses?
Yes. Again, select the appropriate shipping method and you will receive instructions on overseas shipments. We like it when our books travel to far off places

Listening?

Will your disks play in my car?
Does your car have a CD player? If so, they will. If you only have a cassette player then you may need a new car. Just kidding.

Are your books on CDs or MP3s?
Each book review will tell you which format it is offered in but here is a quick rule of thumb: if the book is on six or less disks, it's usually CDs while the longer ones will be MP3s. We can only fit so many disks in a case so that makes the decision for us.

Can I download a book from your website?
While we hope to add his feature eventually, we can't do it just yet. In the meantime, we will ship any selection to you as quickly as we can so it will be almost like it was instantaneous, but not quite.

Just Curious?

Who "reads" your audio books for you?
We scour the world for storytellers with fantastic voices who can read for hours without breathing and making funny noises. If that describes you, then contact us. We might have an opportunity for you to try out your skills.

Who chooses what books you'll record?
We do!  Between us, we have so many favorites but we are constantly on the search for old treasures we may have missed. If you have a favorite old book (before 1923 please) then send us the title and we'll look into it. If your suggestion is new to us and we choose to do it, we'll send you a free copy. Deal?

What's the idea behind "The BOX"?
In the 1990's Adam received a wonderful shipping box from Japan that has been used over and over again for birthday presents in our house. We wanted to share this fun idea so each order comes with its own "BOX" ready to be colored and reused to hold special treasure. Why not tell us how you use your "Box"?

Returns?

Can I return an audio book for a refund?
Full refunds will be given for cash or credit on unopened items returned within 30 days.

A refund will be issued in the same form of currency used for the purchase. For example, if the item was purchased with a credit card, a credit will be issued to that same card.

If the purchase was made by personal check, a refund will be issued by mail after 14 days from receipt of the returned merchandise. This allows time for the original check to clear the bank.

What do I do if I have a defective disc?
Defective items may be returned for a replacement within 30 days. Kalliope will reimburse reasonable shipping charges to return defective items.
