Adjective: |
"Creative" |
Artists are a diverse lot: they may choose to paint or photograph, sculpt or sketch. Whatever their medium though, they create an image out of an idea, enabling us to see more of life than we otherwise would. We applaud their skill and are grateful for their passion and their talents.

How we met them: |
Cheryl came to us as part of a fantastic package deal: she is married to Roy Yokelson, our sound producer and man of many talents. He jokingly said he married Cheryl for her color palette and she married him for his coffee. We've yet to test his coffee brewing skills, but her color sense is definitely superb. Finding out she is a fellow "black-licorice" lover is another great bonus. Enduring friendships are made on finds like this! |

Fun Facts about them: |
I can just picture Cheryl enjoying some "Pralines-n-Cream" ice cream, listening to BNL, Elvis Costello, or Syd Straw on her iPod, and creating colorful designs in her dream art loft (in a little house by quiet water...with a pig running through the yard!) I am *so* glad she never listened to the advice she often heard during her youth, which was..."Don't become an artist." Aren't you? |

What they have to say: |
"Working with Candyce and Hannah is like creating artwork for a favorite Aunt. You know they’ll be thoughtful in their critique, gentle in their suggestions and joyful in the final collaboration. And you can be sure that the end result will be taped on the refrigerator ... and not in the bottom of the underwear drawer ... when you make that surprise visit!" ~Cheryl Welch |

Artist Bio |
After graduating from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Commercial Art, Cheryl spent years working her "art-magic" in Chicago before relocating to the East Coast. Her illustrative focus is two-fold: designing for surface/textiles and children's picture books (and her client list is quite impressive!). Her illustrations weave together unusual colors and lines, creating uncommonly delightful new worlds for children to visit. |
